Jalila Essaïdi
堆肥、生物塑料

Jalila Essaïdi是來自荷蘭的藝術家，這件作品旨在回應荷蘭畜牧業產生過多磷酸鹽影響土壤與環境的問題。堆肥富含磷酸鹽與氮，適量添加有助於農作物生長，然而，畜牧業生產過程產生過多的磷酸鹽與氮有害於土壤、空氣與水。為了因應這種情形，政府須制定嚴格的規範來約束硝酸鹽與磷酸鹽。根據荷蘭統計局報導研發出配方讓堆肥可以製成紙與織品。
藝術家表示製作這種生物塑料時，必須收集液態及固態堆肥，並從中汲取可發酵的元素，再將堆肥中的纖維素透過製漿與乙醯化的過程製成高級纖維紙漿與生物塑料。
